BIOGRAPHY
Marilyn begun her career in 2010 as a Floor Runner and progressed to 2nd Assistant Director, where she has worked on a number or TV dramas and feature films including River City, Outlander, Benidorm, Death in Paradise, The Railway Man, The Angels' Share, Under the Skin, Sunshine on Leith and The Legend of Barney Thomson, to name a few.
In 2015 Marilyn hung up her walkie talkie and became full-time mum, before returning in 2019 writing, producing and directing her first feature film, CONNECT.
CONNECT had its world premiere in February 2019 at Glasgow Film Festival and had its International Premiere at Orlando Film Festival in October 2019. The film also screened at Sydney Indie Film Festival 2019 where Marilyn was awarded BEST DIRECTOR.
In October 2019 CONNECT begun a UK theatrical cinema tour, consisting of 15 Q&A screenings across the UK before being released on Amazon, iTunes, Virgin Media, Sky Store and Google Play.
Marilyn begun shadowing at RIVER CITY in 2021. In 2022 she directed two episodes and successfully completed her first block in early 2024. Shortly after she also completed her first block of ITVs award winning continuing drama EMMDERDALE where she will be returning to for a another block in early 2025.
Marilyn has also shadowed on the hit sci-fi drama THE LAZARUS PROJECT in Wales and she is currently taking part in the ScreenNETS Director's Programme and will be the Shadow Director on Apple TV's period drama THE BUCCANEERS.
